Join us for our latest Arts Incubator run by Playable Streets.

Explore enchanting islands of sound that are activated by walking or rolling across the floor. Collaborate with friends and strangers in an interactive experience with light, sound and collective musical play. Sounds can be triggered by feet, hands or wheelchairs.

Digital arts company Playable Streets returns to ArtSpace at Realm for an exciting experiment in sound. 

The event is for all ages and abilities. Entry is free.

Saturday 12 October

Weave Movement Theatre, a leading disability dance and theatre company, is coming to ArtSpace to explore the Islands installation created by Playable Streets. Weave will experiment with sounds and movement before performing a structured improvisation revealing what they have discovered.

Performance times:

10.30 to 1pm - Weave can be observed experimenting with creating sounds through movement

1.30 to 2pm - Short performance

No bookings required.

Preschool Islands workshops

Friday 25 October 2019 11am and 12 noon (30 minute workshops)

During Childrens Week, explore the Islands installation in ArtSpace at Realm with Playable Streets artist Glen Walton. Discover new sounds and learn how to use your body to compose music with others. This is a fun workshop for preschool children and their carers. All children must be accompanied by a carer.

Cost: $5 per child (accompanying adults are free)

Family afternoon closing event

Saturday 26 October, 2 to 4pm

Join us during Childrens Week and explore the sound world of Islands and meet the Playable Streets artists.

Opening hours for ArtSpace at Realm

Monday to Friday: 9am to 8pm
