Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery is proud to feature local artist Alexander Pinkster and his Paradise Lost painting series in Gallery 2 of Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery from  21 June until 6 August.

Alexander’s paintings reflect on the changes and development of the urban environment during his lifetime. His series Paradise Lost explores the changing idea of neighbourhoods and the connections that we make not only to our neighbours but to our natural surrounds. Pinkster’s work features vibrant colours and forms that are inspired by the intersection of the man-made urban environment and the natural world we live in.  His work comments on how our wasteful habits are increasingly polluting our local environments, and the desire to conserve and connect with the natural world once more.

For this exhibition Alexander Pinkster was awarded the Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery Local Artist Initiative, which provides a free exhibition to a local artist living and/or working in the City of Maroondah.
