Join Gems for an online zine-making workshop as they guide us through a range of creative exercises designed to help us articulate and share our unique voice and story. 

Participants will engage in a range of drawing activities and writing exercises, as well as experimenting with collage techniques and learning how to create a simple zine template.  

Recognising the importance of diverse creative experiences to our sense of wellbeing, this workshop is being run during National Mental Health Month

What you’ll learn

  • Drawing and writing techniques for self-expression 
  • How to create a simple zine 
  • How to articulate your unique voice and story 

What you'll need

No prior zine or art-making experience is required. Just bring an open mind, as well as the following materials: 

  • Paper for drawing and writing 
  • Drawing and writing tools (pens, pencils, textas, fineliners, etc) 
  • Materials for collage (old magazines, books, newspapers, etc.) 
  • Scissors 
  • Glue and/or tape (e.g. masking, clear and/or washi tape).
