Reconciliation Week takes place each year from 27 May to 3 June.

National Reconciliation Week runs from Wednesday 27 May to Wednesday 3 June and is a time for people of all ages to come together and strengthen relationships and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Reconciliation Week program will look a little different this year and is moving online with a range of activities in partnership with Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place (MMIGP).

Events and activities

Wednesday 27 May
Launch of Reconciliation Week with the release of a video featuring the Mayor of Maroondah, Cr Mike Symon and Karen Milward, Chair of Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place.

Thursday 28 May

11am - Live streamed performance
Live streamed performance by Kutcha Edwards on the Arts in Maroondah Facebook page and Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place Facebook page.

12pm - Q&A
Award-winning singer/songwriter Kutcha Edwards is joined by Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place Chair Karen Milward and Men's Worker Chris Hume for a special Q&A event as part of the Maroondah Celebrates Reconciliation online program. Presented by MMIGP and Maroondah City Council with Maroondah Movement for Reconciliation.

Friday 29 May - 7.30pm
Live streamed award winning documentary In My Blood It Runs hosted by Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place. In My Blood It Runs is an observational feature documentary following 10 year old Arrernte Aboriginal boy Dujuan as he grows up Alice Springs. The screening will be followed by a discussion with MMIGP Elders and community members. Read more and purchase tickets


Keep your eye on the Arts in Maroondah and MMIGP Facebook pages throughout Reconciliation Week for the release of a series of short videos including a mini-doco about Yeng Gali Mullum.

This program is presented by Maroondah City Council and Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place along with the Maroondah Movement for Reconciliation.
