Will Mitchell, from Birdlife Australia and local resident, will help you discover and learn about local birds living in Maroondah.

This is one of several nature discovery activities being held in Maroondah designed to encourage participation in the 2022 Great Southern Bioblitz from Friday 28th October to Monday 31st October. Discover some of the wild plants and animals that are found in and around Maroondah. Come prepared with the iNaturalist app downloaded on your smartphone so your observations can be counted towards Maroondah’s statistics in the Bioblitz.

Please note you may be walking on uneven ground, encounter stinging or biting insects, tripping hazards such as fallen branches and potholes. Please stick to the trails. 

  • Date: Saturday 29 October, 2022
  • Time: 9am to 11am
  • Location: Ringwood Lake Park, Ringwood. Meeting point information will be sent following registration.
  • Facilitator: Will Mitchell - Birds Australia - Birds, other fauna, general plants
  • What to bring: Dress for the expected weather, closed footwear for uneven ground, smartphone (with iNaturalist App). Also bring binoculars, camera with telephoto lens, field guide if you have them.
