Out of Viewfinder is a playful way of scoping out how we see the many things we are yet to notice.
About the exhibition
Out of Viewfinder was a playful, site-specific. participatory installation at Realm, Eastland and Ringwood Town Square.
Leading the transformation over the course of the exhibition, Public Assembly developed a series of viewing devices that acted as creative platforms to prompt discussion, encouraging participants to see without prejudice and to look within themselves.
Participants were invited to take part in workshops and a walking exploration through Realm and beyond on Saturdays during the exhibition, and step into the 'virtual square' anytime throughout the exhibition in ArtSpace at Realm.
About the Artists
Established in 2007, Public Assembly is the creative collaboration between Lynda Roberts and Ceri Hann. Their practice works at the intersection between art and design and acts as a live laboratory, generating ideas through action. Their socially-driven practice often invites people to creatively respond to their immediate environment. Acting as playful provocateurs, this creative duo aim to stimulate conversation and disrupt our expectations of the objects, language and images around us.
