Join this free interactive workshop will help people with a disability to use social media platforms more safely and to make choices about how to avoid online abuse and protect your own wellbeing.
Join a free interactive workshop for women, trans women and non-binary people with lived experience of disabilities, including neurodiversity, mental health conditions and chronic illness. The workshop will provide information on using social media platforms more safely, avoid online abuse and protect your own wellbeing.
Everyone should have the opportunity to use online spaces safely. However we know that women are more likely to be the target of online abuse and women with disabilities and members of the LGBTIQA+ community may face additional abuse.
Presented by eSafety Women, these workshops are free and interactive.
Participants will:
- Learn how to recognise online abuse experienced by women with disabilities and how it impacts personal and working lives.
- Explore conversation controls and other privacy and security settings on social media platforms that can empower women to be in control of their social media.
- Learn how to report to platforms and eSafety.
- Learn how eSafety can help.
Sessions will encourage discussion and participation through in person activities and online interaction tools
- recognising online abuse and how to report online abuse
- protecting your wellbeing.

The online session will offer closed captions and Auslan interpreters available upon request. Carers are also welcome to join in on the online session.
