This guide provides a list of agencies and recycling centres to help with safe disposal of waste items and correct recycling procedures.

Charges may apply for some items; we recommend you contact the facility to confirm any costs before taking your items.

National Televsion & Computer Recycling Scheme

The National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme provides Australian householders and small business with access to free recycling services for:

  • televisions
  • computers
  • printers
  • computer products (such as keyboards, mice and hard drives).

Council On Call Hard Waste Collection

  • Eligible residential households are entitled to a maximum of two collections per financial year. Maximum of 2 cubic meters of acceptable items taken per booking.
  • To arrange collection book online now, phone 1300 88 22 33 or visit one of Council’s Customer Service Centres.

Lids (plastic)

Number 2 or 4. Unlabelled but are from milk, UHT, water or soft drink bottle.

Light globes

Detox your Home Chemical Collection

There are three nearby permanent Detox your Home collection sites which accept compact fluorescent light globes, household batteries and paint all year round:

  • Banyule Waste Recovery Centre, 307-325 Waterdale Road, Bellfield 
  • Monash Waste Transfer and Recycling Station, 380 Ferntree Gully Road, Notting Hill.

Linen 

Donate to a local op shop or charity shop, if in good condition.

Check with your local vet if they accept donations of old blankets and bedding, including towels and linen.

RSPCA

Sheridan Recycling Program
