A-Z of waste disposal

This guide provides a list of agencies and recycling centres to help with safe disposal of waste items and correct recycling procedures.

Charges may apply for some items; we recommend you contact the facility to confirm any costs before taking your items.


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic some facilities may not be operating. Please contact the facility to find out if you’re allowed to visit the site under the current restrictions.


Council kerbside collection

  • Place in garbage bin, emptied weekly.


Council drop off

  • Council offers local residents a free disposal service for used hypodermic needles and syringes. These items are designated as biologically hazardous and require safe disposal.
  • To use this service, simply call 1300 88 22 33 and ask for a 'Sharps' container. When the container has been filled with used syringes and needles, bring it back for replacement.


Council kerbside collection

  • Place in recycle bin, emptied every fortnight.
