Be empowered with safety tools and knowledge that can be used within the home and community to help protect children from sexual abuse.

Body Safety Australia presented a free webinar aiming to empower children with skills and knowledge that will reduce the risk of them becoming victims of childhood sexual abuse.

Teaching children about body safety and consent from an early age helps them develop respectful relationships as they grow into adults and become more considerate of others, understanding that everyone has the right to feel safe and secure.

Participants learned:

  • Risks, myths, and misconceptions about childhood sexual abuse
  • Ten key areas of body safety
  • How to identify grooming behaviours
  • Age-appropriate play
  • Digital technology use, grooming, and abuse prevention
  • Practical body safety strategies to implement at home
  • How to support at-risk children, including self-care techniques.
