National Disability Insurance Scheme - NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to people who are under 65 years of age (under 50 years of age if the person is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity) and have a permanent and significant disability, to live an ordinary life.

This Commonwealth government funded Scheme rolled out across Maroondah City Council area from 1 November 2017.

NDIS Coordinator

Maroondah Council is pleased to offer support to Maroondah residents through a dedicated NDIS Coordinator who works within Council’s Aged and Disability Services team. The NDIS Coordinator will help Maroondah residents with general and individualised information and support for understanding and navigating the NDIS. Advocacy support is also available.

Our NDIS Coordinator can support you over the phone, with face-to-face meetings at home (or another venue) or via email. They can explain what to expect about the process of applying for, reviewing or appealing NDIS plans and provide practical support resources.
