October 2021

20 October - Outdoor swimming returns next week

Croydon Memorial Pool is open for lap swimming from Wednesday 27 October. The outcomes of Monday night’s Council meeting also feature in this week’s Maroondah News from Mayor, Councillor Kylie Spears. At the meeting the Annual Report 2020/21 was formally adopted as well as the Heritage Action Plan.

7 October - Outdoor swimming only weeks away

Summer is fast approaching and our Maroondah Leisure staff at Croydon Memorial Pool are busy preparing the pool for reopening later this month. Also in this week’s Maroondah News from Mayor Councillor Kylie Spears, Ringwood and Dorset golf courses have reopened with more than 2000 keen golfers securing a booking in the first 15 minutes of our online system opening. And October is a busy month with many events and activities taking place including Seniors Festival and Children’s Week.

23 September - Roadmap out of restrictions

The Greening the Greyfields pilot project has been given the greenlight with the adoption of planning amendments at this week’s Council meeting.

1 September 2021 - Heathmont carpark concept designs released

The Heathmont activity centre carpark concept designs have been released for community consultation. Also released for feedback was the proposed landscaping improvements. Mayor of Maroondah, Councillor Kylie Spears also talks about upcoming events featuring Joel Feren and the Liveability Census results for Maroondah.

19 August 2021 - Record $90 million infrastructure works for Maroondah - watch now

Maroondah Mayor Councillor Kylie Spears celebrates the announcement from the Victorian Government that three level crossings in Maroondah will be removed as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project. This follows more than five years of advocacy by Council.

20 July 2021 - Community Satisfaction Survey for Maroondah

With increased restrictions Maroondah facilities remain temporarily closed. Mayor of Maroondah, Councillor Kylie Spears, also provides an update from Monday night’s Council meeting where the 2021 Community Satisfaction Survey results were presented.

1 July 2021 - $48.25 million in Maroondah’s 2021/22 capital works program

On Monday night, Maroondah City Council endorsed the Council Plan 2021-2025 and the Adopted Budget 2021/22. These documents establish the priorities in Maroondah and how they will be achieved. Mayor of Maroondah, Councillor Kylie Spears gives an overview of the types of projects that will be included in the $48.25 million capital works program. She also touches on the adoption of the 2021 Road Management Plan.
