Race rules
- Please be mindful of other people using the path, including runners, walkers and people with prams. Dogs are not permitted.
- To ensure your time is recorded please run or walk over the start timing pad and end timing pad.
- Please be aware of other runners, walkers and prams. Please utilise your head torch or hand torch at all times. There will also be a number of bends and changes to ground conditions, including changes to track (grass, gravel, concrete path) and undulating ground surfaces.
- Please run or walk alongside the glowing ground lights at all times, as this is the safest course path to follow.
- Whilst running or walking, if you are experiencing any difficulties and would like assistance, please signal for assistance.
- Participants are encouraged to stop and render assistance in the case of an accident or incident. Please report any accidents or incidents to the nearest track marshal and they will call for assistance.

Frequently asked questions
What are the age requirements?
- Individual entry: The individual must be 12 years or over.
- Family entry: One entrant must be 18 years or over. There is no age requirement for children participating with an adult.
- Children under 12 years: Are required to register with an individual 18 years or over.
- Children in prams: Free to participate (for walking only) and are not required to register.
Can I participate with a pram?
For the safety of all participants, it is strongly recommended that prams remain walking on the course and do not run. The night run will be held on the grass fairways of Ringwood Golf Course, where certain sections are uneven and undulating.
Due to limited visibility and the potential risk of prams tipping over at higher speeds, prams will be positioned at the rear of the walking group. This measure is intended to minimise the risk of collisions between prams, walkers and runners.
Can children on bikes participate?
No children on bikes please, as it is a run/walk. The clash of bikes and people in the dark is unsafe and the uneven terrain for children on bikes is risky.
Will my family and friends be able to watch me participate?
Yes! Viewing is permitted at the finish line, though not around the course please.
What is the Agreement, Waiver and Acknowledgement form (Registrations form)?
The Registration Form is a document you must read carefully and understand before signing it. It advises you, the participant, of your legal rights as well as the Terms and Conditions of entry. If you are under the age of 18 years on the event day, your parent or guardian must sign this document for you.
Is there a cut-off date for registration?
Registrations close 5pm, Tuesday 28 April.
Please note: registrations received between Saturday 25 April and Tuesday 28 April will incur an additional $10.50 late fee per registration.
Can I participate if I have a medical or physical condition?
If there is any doubt regarding your ability to participate, please speak to your GP before registering for Maroondah Night Run.
There is a section on the registration form requesting details regarding medical and physical conditions. You must provide all relevant details.
Can I get a refund?
No refunds will be issued. The registration is not transferable to any other person without permission of the Event organiser.
In the event of postponement due to heat, extreme weather, fire policies or similar, the event may be rescheduled. If the event is not rescheduled, refunds will be issued to all entrants.
In the occurrence that this event may be scheduled during a time at which the pandemic and/or public health emergency arising from COVID or a state of emergency, one or more State or Commonwealth Government directions, regulations or laws, including directions regarding the number of persons who are permitted to attend the Event (“Government Directive”) may impact on Council’s ability to hold the Event. If Council is required or decides to cancel or postpone the Event because of COVID or a Government Directive, I agree that (notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms and Conditions) my registration and Event entry fee will be automatically rolled over and credited to the following year Event and I will not be entitled to receive a refund of my Event entry fee.
