Trees, vegetation and weeds

Our community places great value on our tree population. The Maroondah landscape is defined by its extensive canopy, with an estimated 70,000 street trees, 47 bushland reserves and more than 750,000 ancillary trees (mostly native species) in parks and reserves.

Council is committed to ensuring a green and sustainable future for our community and the preservation of our tree population and native habitat. We maintain our environment through the responsible management of naturestrips, trees, environmental weeds and burning off through regulations and provision of permits. About tree removal permits
