Permit fee and permit bond

The non-refundable asset protection permit fee and refundable asset protection permit bond is based upon the type of works and is outlined in the table below.

There may be special circumstances where the asset protection permit bond is increased at Council’s discretion due to:

  • the extent of the works
  • the potential to cause damage
  • site conditions
  • the proposed development.
  • the site is located on an arterial road.

Please note that a single street frontage is typically 15-20m wide. Corner blocks are considered to be 2 street frontages

Fees to extend an Asset Protection Permit

The fee to extend an Asset Protection Permit is charged at half the current applicable permit fee and must be paid before an Asset Protection Permit extension has been granted.

The Asset Protection Permit bond will be retained until the works are complete.

Council may require an additional bond be paid as part of a request to extend an Asset Protection Permit, if the extent of damage or nature of works justifies this.

Subdivisions 

For land subdivisions where certain works become the responsibility of Council (such as roads, drainage, footpath or water sensitive urban design elements) the developer must submit a cost estimate of the works to Council.

In accordance with the Subdivision Act  the fees for checking the engineering plans shall be 0.75% of the estimated cost of construction, and will generally be reflected on the planning permit.

Under the same Act, fees for supervising the works shall be 2.5% of the estimated cost of construction, and will generally be reflected on the planning permit.

The fee for checking engineering plans for all other developments will be based upon the size of the development.

Builders and contractors planning to undertake works on Council-owned roads, footpaths or naturestrips are required to have a road and/or footpath closure permit before works commence.

Ringwood Activities Area visitor parking vouchers

Visitor parking voucher booklets contain 18 vouchers (12 x 4-hour vouchers and 6 x daily vouchers) and can be purchased for $46. Please note there is a maximum of 1 booklet per property per month.

Maximum of 5 permits for a maximum of 13 weeks and costs $19.50 per permit. 

Croydon Traders Parking Permits

Croydon traders can purchase a maximum of 4 parking permits per business for use among staff.

First time registrations

First time registration fees are charged pro rata, so your registration fee will be calculated based on how close to renewal you are. If you register online or in person, your fees will be calculated automatically, otherwise contact Council to find out your pro rata payment. 

Unsterilised dog/cat registration (under 6 months old)

If your dog or cat is less than 6 months old and is not desexed (due to age), a reduced rate applies. For the reduced rate to apply in future years you will need to have your dog/cat desexed and provide the desexing certificate to Council before 10 April. If no certificate is received then registration renewal will be at the full fee. 

Reduced fees

Eligibility criteria for reduced fee on new registrations are that the animal must be desexed, or over 10 years of age, or part of a Domestic Animal Business or applicable organisation (proof must be provided).

The residential waste service fees include a 240 litre recycling bin and a 240 litre FOGO bin and two hard waste collections. 

Residents are welcome to request an additional recycling bin at no additional charge, conditions apply, please contact Council on 1300 88 22 33 to check if you’re eligible. 

Residents can also save $72 per annum on their waste charge by swapping from a 120 litre bin to an 80 litre rubbish bin. The charge is pro-rata if you change your service during the financial year. Please contact Council on 1300 88 22 33 to arrange a downsize.
