Dogs’ Day Out

Join us for a ‘pawsome’ Dogs’ Day Out in partnership with Animal Aid. There will be family entertainment, activities for our four-legged friends, experts on hand for advice, demonstrations and more.

There will be a free sausage sizzle along with ice cream and coffee to purchase from onsite vendors at this free outdoor event for dogs and their humans.

Please note, all dogs are required to be on a leash during this event.

Highlights include:

• Agility Course, which will be open for the duration of the event for dogs to try out
• Lure Course by Melbourne Lure Dog Club. Course will be open for the duration of the event
• Demonstration Arena, with a demonstration by Croydon & District Obedience Dog Club
• Responsible pet ownership including registering, microchipping and desexing your pet, cleaning up after pets and walking dogs on leash. Maroondah Council’s Animal Management team will be available for any questions and advice on pet ownership in Maroondah. Come along and meet our friendly Animal Management team!
• Free face painting and activities
• Market stalls, coffee and ice-cream vendors and free sausage sizzle
• Competitions including ‘Best Trick’, ‘Pet Lookalike’ and ‘Fur Fashion’
• Presentations from the experts:
  • Adele Scannell (Veterinary Welfare Director, Animal Aid) on importance of desexing and vaccinations
  • Shelby Thorn (Senior Animal Behaviourist, Animal Aid) on trick training demonstrations
  • Dylan Luff (Animal Behaviourist, Animal Aid) on animal enrichment activities.
