Council is undertaking works to install a half basketball court at The Range Estate Wetlands area, adjacent to Evans Drive.

Following feedback from local residents, Council completed an assessment of local sports court availability. Council identified a shortage of hardcourts within the area, leading to a reliance on nearby schools and facilities to accommodate court-based activities.

Subsequently, funding has been made available to complete these works through April and May 2025.

About the works

The proposed half basketball/netball court will span 12 meters in length and 6 meters in width. To ensure easy access and convenience for all users, an adjoining concrete pathway will seamlessly connect the court, existing pathway, and seating area.

In addition, the current crushed rock track will be concreted to create a smooth and accessible pathway. This newly concreted track will serve as a link, connecting the pathway along Spriggs Drive to the pathways within the wetlands area.

These improvements will promote physical activity and social interactions for locals as well as enhance accessibility, making it easier for everyone to navigate and enjoy the surrounding area.

Timing of works

The works, including the pathway construction, are due to take place April to May 2025, subject to contractor and material availability.
