Long Day Care

Maroondah City Council does not operate any long day care centres. However, there are many community-based, private and corporate centres in the municipality. Parents wishing to enrol in long day care should contact the centres individually.

For Council-run services, see details about Maroondah's occasional day care.

Child care centres provide care and developmental programs for young children from infancy to 6 years.

Most centres operate 5 days per week and provide care for families who are working, studying or living in the area. All care centres are required to be registered with the Victorian Department of Human Services.

Your long day care centre may offer funded 3-year-old kindergarten.

The Victorian Government's Kinder Tick website helps families find a funded and approved kindergarten program for their children.

Enrolling your child

When considering a childcare centre, it is important to visit before you enrol to ensure that the centre suits your family's needs and complements your values as a parent.

Remember to check if the centre is registered for childcare benefit and your eligibility for this assistance with fees.
