Road rehabilitation work is complete at Heywood Street in Ringwood.

About the project

Works completed include:

  • Reconstruction of concrete kerb and channel
  • Reconstruction of vehicle crossovers
  • Reconstruction of deteriorated footpath segments
  • Reconstruction of the raised pavements
  • Flood mitigation improvements between Keith Grove and Barkly Street
  • New stormwater drainage infrastructure
  • Asphalt pavement upgrades and resurfacing of the road pavement.

Tree removal

Trees and vegetation were removed to support the construction. As part of the design process, Council’s qualified arborist assessed the design and the recommended tree removal. Relevant tree removal permits were sought.

Council’s tree planting team will identify if there are any viable locations for new street tree planting opportunities in the future.
