Indigenous history
The first people that occupied the Melbourne area prior to European colonisation were the Woiwurrung language group, specifically the Wurundjeri people.
History of Croydon
The Croydon area was first known as Warrandyte station as it was the first station in Warrandyte Parish, then South Warrandyte and finally Croydon after consultation within the community.
History of Ringwood
The original Ringwood village emerged in the mid to late 19th century, following the sale of land in the 1850s and the emergence of grazing, fruit growing and brick making activities.
