Plastic Free July
Plastic Free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution - so we can have cleaner streets, oceans and beautiful communities. Last year an estimated 174 million people participated globally. Participants made small, but impactful changes, such as switching to a reusable water bottle, using a reusable coffee cup, actively choosing unpackaged produce and avoiding plastic wrap.
The Plastic Free July challenge provides resources and ideas to help participants (and millions of others around the world) reduce single-use plastic waste every day at home, work, school and in the community.
By participating, Maroondah City Council is supporting the community to choose to refuse single use plastics directly and helping to create cleaner communities and a sustainable future.
