This is Linda’s first time on Council, being elected to the role in March 2022 following a by-election. She has lived in Maroondah for more than 30 years, raising two children and playing an active role in local school and sporting communities.
Linda has been a member of Victoria Police for nearly 40 years and is currently based in the Lilydale Proactive Policing Unit. As a keen walker Linda has completed two Camino walks to raise awareness for mental health and the benefits of an active lifestyle. As part of her training she frequented the various walking trails and bush walks in Maroondah, including those in Wonga Ward.
As a Councillor she is looking forward to bringing community groups and organisations together to achieve greater outcomes and improve the perception of safety in our community. This includes ensuring neighbourhoods are accessible and well connected.
Linda is representing Council on the following:
- Maroondah Disability Advisory Committee
- Maroondah Liveability, Safety and Amenity Committee
- Eastern Regional Libraries Corporation
- METEC (Metropolitan Training Education Centre Inc.)
- Victorian Local Government Women’s Charter
