Childrens Week 2025

Children's Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. This year’s theme is Everyone should know about Children’s Rights.

Celebrate with us from Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 October 2025 with a range of activities happening across Maroondah for children and their families to participate in.

Adult supervision is required at all events and activities. Children cannot be left unattended.

Croydon Library

Storytelling and Magic Show with Em Chandler
Saturday 18 October 2025 | 10.30am to 11.30am

An hour of magic, story, and silliness with award-winning magician and storyteller Em Chandler. Suitable for all ages.

Grandparents Family Storytime
Tuesday 21 October 2025 | 11am to 12noon

Celebrate grandparents and how amazing they are at this fun special storytime. There will be stories, songs and rhymes. All families are welcome, with or without a grandparent. Suitable for children 0 to 6 years, but all ages welcome. No bookings required.

LEGO® Club and Children's Week Afterschool Fun
Tuesday 21 October 2025 | 4pm to 5pm

Afterschool games and activities including LEGO®, board games, badge making and robots. Suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years. No bookings required.

Dance Party Family Storytime
Friday 24 October 2025 | 11am to 12noon

Come to the party, a special dance party storytime! Have fun with stories, songs and rhymes. Families and caregivers are welcome to stay afterwards to socialise in the children's area. Suitable for children aged 0 to 6 years. No bookings required.

Baby Sensory Play and Storytime
Friday 24 October 2025 | 2.30pm to 3.30pm

A fun sensory play and storytime session. Have fun playing with your little one and meeting other families. Suitable for children aged 0 to 18 months. No bookings required

Join the Maroondah Toy Library and find a wonderful selection of toys to stimulate and enchant your babies and young children. Activities suitable for children 0 to 6 years, but all ages welcome. No bookings required.

Come along for some fun and challenge yourself, friends or family with giant games and mini obstacle course. Suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years. No bookings required.

Drop in Playdough Fun!
Saturday 25 October 2025 | 12noon to 4pm

Have fun sculpting and creating with our First Nations playdough mats to make indigenous symbols or use your imagination and just have fun. Suitable for children aged 2 to 12 years. No bookings required.
