  • Approx. start dateMarch 2026
  • Approx. end date15 May 2026

As part of our ongoing commitment to improve roads and pedestrian networks across Maroondah, Council will undertake road improvement works along the eastern side of Old Warrandyte Road, between Little John Road and the existing bus stop outside 88 Old Warrandyte Road.

Works will commence in March 2026 and are projected to take approximately six weeks to complete. Updates will be provided as the project progresses. Works are subject to contractor availability.

About the works

Works will include:

  • Construction of new kerb between Quamby Road and Little John Road on the east side of the Old Warrandyte Road.
  • Construction of new concrete footpath on the eastern side of the road from 86 Old Warrandyte Road, connecting into Little John Road.
  • Construction of new kerb ramps (pedestrian crossing points) on the corner of Quamby Road.
  • Renewal and upgrade of the existing guard rail.

Vehicle crossing reconstruction

Due to the severity of the existing footpath grades, some vehicle crossings will be reconstructed to allow the concrete footpath to extend through the vehicle crossings at compliant grades. Some vehicle crossings may need to be reconstructed within private property extents. This will be identified during detailed design and discussed directly with affected residents.

Vegetation removal

Naturestrip vegetation removal outside 92-98 Old Warrandyte Road, Ringwood North will be required to enable the works to go ahead.
This vegetation has been identified by Council’s Arborists for removal due to its unmanageable and overgrown condition. The works will include returning the area to a grassed naturestrip.
