Fire Equipment Services

  • Old fire extinguishers can be disposed of at a Fire Equipment Services (FES) Workshop.
  • Please call 0437 289 329 prior to visiting, to confirm that FES are currently accepting fire extinguishers for disposal.
  • Office hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 12pm.
  • FES are located in the Siemens Business Park, situated at Factory 27, 885 Mountain Highway, Bayswater, 3153.
  • Approach the guard house and let them know you are visiting FES Workshop to gain access.

Foamex 

Drop off polystyrene to Foamex for recycling. All polystyrene must be free of contamination, such as, sticky tape, cardboard and food particles.

Council On Call Hard Waste Collection

  • Eligible residential households are entitled to a maximum of two collections per financial year. Maximum of 2m3 of acceptable items taken per booking.
  • Please ensure all polystyrene is contained in a cardboard box to reduce litter

Council Kerbside Collection

  • Empty any unused cosmetics into your general waste bin
  • View ‘beauty product packaging’ for information on how to dispose of the packaging.

  • Place in your FOGO bin, emptied fortnightly
  • Prunings and branches up to 10cm in diameter and 40cm in length can be placed in your garden organics bin.

On call bundled prunings collection

  • Eligible residential households are entitled to a maximum of two collections per financial year. Maximum of 2 cubic metres of acceptable items taken per booking
  • To arrange collection book online now, phone 1300 88 22 33 or visit one of Council’s Customer Service Centres
  • Bundle and tie prunings with natural string or twine (No synthetic or metal wire).
  • Bundles are to be no more than 1500mm long and 300mm wide.
  • Single tree limbs need to be smaller than 200mm wide and 1500m long (no branches attached and neatly stacked).

Donate, sell or give away

If your household items are in good, useable condition, consider donating as an alternative to disposing of in a hard waste collection. Find your nearest op shop or refer to Facebook Marketplace or groups Ziilch or Gumtree.

ReStore is Habitat for Humanity's social enterprisethat accepts and resells new and gently used items donated by businesses and the general public.

GIVIT

GIVIT is a not-for-profit donation platform that facilitates the donation of essential goods and services to people in need. Simply browse the what’s needed list on GIVIT.org.au to see if the item you are looking to move on has been requested by a GIVIT partner charity in your local area. If so, GIVIT will connect you with the requesting charity to arrange collection or delivery of the item.

Alternatively, you can list your item on the GIVIT online warehouse. GIVIT partner charities browse this warehouse and reserve items for their clients who are experiencing hardship.
