Australia Day Celebrations
Australia Day 26 January at Ringwood Lake
Australia Day is a day to come together and celebrate our great nation.
Maroondah City Council runs annual Australia Day celebrations at Ringwood Lake (corner of Maroondah Highway and Mt Dandenong Road, Mel Ref 49K8).
This is a free event and a great way to spend some time in the outdoors with family and friends.
Proceedings include the Australian Citizenship Ceremony and the presentation of Maroondah's Australia Day Awards.
- Trackless Train
The fantastic Ringwood Lake Express will be back again this year taking rides from 11.30am - 2.30pm.
- Magical Mountains Adventure Time Show
Come on a journey full of fun, adventure, singing and dancing with Wozza from Australia and his eight Australian animal friends (and a gum tree named Breanna!)
The Magical Mountain fury folk get up to all sorts of different activities and have great messages for the children (and the adults too :) with the help of Wozza’s thoughtfully written and energetically performed songs.
There’s Stewie Koala, Locky Cocky, Spike Echidna, Ellie Emu, Pippy Possum, Willy Wombat, Suzie Roo, Radical Rat, and along with Breanna the gum tree, they help address important topics and issues such as bullying, making new friends, building a healthy self esteem and encouraging respect and empathy for others.
They like to raise environmental and cultural awareness, and as well as being sun-smart, they also encourage healthy eating and active living, all whist having a great time grooving to their own special and lively tunes.
Every song tells a story and the interaction between these characters and their audience is fantastically heart warming.
They can’t wait to see you, at The Magical Mountains Adventure Time Show!
Other activities will include:
- face painting;
- an animal farm;
- sausage sizzle; and a
- inflatable ride.
