Community Grants Policy

Maroondah City Council is committed to working in partnership with the community to encourage, develop, support and sustain a wide range of local quality recreational, cultural, social and community support initiatives that make a positive contribution to the Maroondah community and strengthen the development of strong local communities.

Each financial year, Council provides financial assistance to individuals, community groups and not for profit organisations to support the provision of programs and services which respond to identified community need, contribute to the building of stronger communities and which are in accordance with Council’s strategic outcomes and key directions as outlined in Maroondah 2050: Our future together.

The purpose of this policy is to provide a strong framework to guide the provision of a responsive, equitable, inclusive and well-governed community grants process Council.

This Policy provides a framework for the following grant programs and schemes administered by Council:

  • The Annual Community Grants Program (incorporating Community Grants Emergency Relief Grants and Small Equipment Grants)
  • The Annual Arts and Cultural Grants Program
  • The Community Assistance Fund Program.

Any Council grant programs outside this list are not explicitly guided by this Policy.
