Aunty Irene Norman

Aunty Irene Norman is a highly celebrated Ngemba Wailwan and Djadjawurrung woman.

Alongside her work in Mullum Mullum Gathering Place teaching traditional weaving, Aunty Irene is a writer of poetry, and has written some of the songs performed by the Yeng Gali Mullum Singers.

Her list of achievements include:

  • Founding member of Yeng Gali Mullum Singers
  • Published author of a collection of poetry titled Out of my head, onto the page
  • Cultural Educator with Killara House
  • and work with Koorie Education Support Officers in the Cultural Understanding and Safety Training project.
