Rates direct debit application

You can apply to pay your rates using direct debit from your bank account. For more payment options see Pay your rates.

Apply for direct debit

Online

You will need your property assessment number, found on your Rates and Valuation Notice.

Step 1.Submit application

Please note: direct debit from a credit card will not be accepted.

Step 2.Confirmation

You will receive a letter within 10 business days of your application being submitted, with expected instalment amounts and payment dates.

Your direct debit request will automatically be implemented for future years, unless you cancel direct debit payments.

Please note: if a direct debit payment falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment will be processed the next business day. This may take up to 48 hours to show on your bank transaction or statement.

Step 2.Submit completed form and any supporting documents

*Council require the original direct debit application form. You can submit a copy of your completed form via email, but please still post or deliver the original application form to any Council office.

Cancel direct debit

Once you apply to pay your rates using direct debit, this will automatically be carried forward for future years. To cancel direct debit, please complete the Rates Direct Debit Cancellation Request.
