Lipscombe playspace render

The playspace at Lipscombe Park in Croydon was renewed in 2025.

As part of Council’s 25/26 Capital Works Playspace Improvement program, Council has built a new playspace at Lipscombe Park.

The playspace provides inclusive structural play elements that promote physical activity, social interactions, problem solving, safe risk taking, lead and follow, inclusion, cooperation and sharing.

The project includes:

  • two large play units
  • two slides
  • two upper body elements including monkey bars and track slide
  • standalone elements including spinner, see-saw and rocker
  • one multi-bay swing unit including different swings for different ages and abilities
  • one nest swing.

Also included in the works was the renewal of the playspace surface, new bench seats and picnic seat, pathway upgrades and landscaping works. To improve safety and security of the playspace a mesh fence has also be constructed around the perimeter of the play area. This will reduce the risk of balls rolling onto the road and off-lead dogs entering the playspace.

The installation of the two new shelters and basketball hoop will occur in the new year.
