Works are now complete to reconstruct the road at Victoria Street, between Knaith Road and Railway Avenue in Ringwood East and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue, Ringwood East. Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation during these important upgrade works. 

Scope of works

The road reconstruction works include:

  • Reprioritised the Victoria Street and Railway Avenue intersection to address limited traffic visibility and high vehicle speeds
  • Realigned the intersection to be a conventional T-intersection with priority to traffic along Railway Avenue
  • Reconstructed the two pedestrian kerb ramps and associated concrete islands at the intersection
  • Constructed a new footpath on the western side of Victoria Street and a new pedestrian crossing outside 25 Victoria Street
  • Constructed a raised pavement at the front of 28 Victoria Street to address speeding issues
  • Reconstructed concrete kerb and channel on both sides of Victoria Street and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue
  • Reconstructed two pedestrian kerb ramps at the intersection of Victoria Street and Loma Street
  • Reconstructed vehicle crossovers
  • Reconstructed stormwater drainage infrastructure
  • Road pavement renewal works
  • Upgraded signage and line-marking.
