Warranwood Reserve

Warranwood Reserve occupies 11 ha (27 acres) along Jumping Creek and is covered by natural bushland consisting of 181 species; with a number of plants of regional conservation significance.

There's walking trails, an interpretive trail, small playground, shelter and carparking within the reserve.  

Flora

Warranwood Reserve consists of Grassy Dry Forest, Herb-rich Foothill Forest and Swampy Riparian Woodland.

The following list represents some of the common and some of the rare and significant (*) plants found in the reserve.

Upper storey

  • Red Box - Eucalyptus polyanthemos
  • Red Stringybark - Eucalyptus macrorhyncha
  • Yellow Box – Eucalyptus melliodora
  • Messmate – Eucalyptus obliqua
  • Swamp Gum – Eucalyptus ovata
  • Bundy – Eucalyptus goniocalyx
  • Candlebark – Eucalyptus rubida

Middle storey

  • Cherry Ballart – Exocarpus cupressiformis
  • Snowy Daisy-bush – Olearia lirata
  • Elderberry Panax – Polyscias sambucifolia*
  • Victorian Christmas Bush – Prostanthera lasianthos
  • Tree Everlasting - Ozothamnus ferrugineus
  • Large Kangaroo Apple – Solanum laciniatum
  • Rough Tree-fern – Cyathea australis

Lower storey

  • Cranberry heath - Astroloma humifusum*
  • Derwent Speedwell – Derwentia derwentiana*
  • Angled Lobelia - Lobelia alata
  • Hairy Speedwell – Veronica calycina*
