As part of May We?, an exhibition by Pussy Willow Power at Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery, this hands-on workshop invites you to explore creativity, nature and shared stories through a simple printmaking process.
Join Pussy Willow Power and artist Iona Julian-Walters for Solar Shadows and Foraged Forms, a relaxed cyanotype (sun print) workshop suitable for beginners. Cyanotypes use sunlight to create distinctive blue prints. Participants place leaves or small objects onto light‑sensitive paper, expose it to the sun, then rinse the paper with water to reveal the image.
In this workshop, you will:
- Create your own cyanotype print
- Contribute your print to a shared, collaborative artwork
- Explore the gardens at Maroondah Federation Estate to collect plant materials for printing.
You are welcome to bring a small item that represents a maternal or caregiving relationship for you. Lightweight or semi‑transparent items work best, but this is optional.
All materials are provided. No experience is necessary.
School aged children (6 years and over) are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian.
