Join us for a community forum focused on healthy living, active movement and positive ageing.

This event is designed for women, particularly older women, who are interested in learning practical ways to support their physical and mental wellbeing in a welcoming and supportive environment. The forum provides an opportunity to listen, learn and ask questions, with practical information you can apply to everyday life. Topics will cover nutrition, wellbeing and the importance of staying active as you age, along with information about local services and supports.

  • practical strategies to support positive mental wellbeing 
  • ability to reach your full potential, support and encouragement towards specific goals

About the presenters

Carol Edmeades - Third Aged Fitness

With 60 years of teaching experience, Carol has truly seen it all. She is passionate about helping older adults reach their full potential and educating others on how to support and encourage them toward their goals. Carol teaches a wide range of classes, including freestyle aerobics, aqua, circuit, step, mobility, and chair-based exercises. She holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, along with additional training in dementia care, pelvic floor health, and fitness for older adults.

Marietta Mehanni

Marietta is an Australian group fitness educator, presenter and program creator with over 30 years of experience in land and water-based exercise. She is the co-creator of mSwing, co-founder of My Group Move, and an International Master Trainer and Education Coordinator for Gymstick International. Marietta is known for making movement accessible, purposeful and engaging, with a focus on helping people move better, feel more confident and understand the value of exercise for both the body and brain.

Kaylah- Bellydancer

Kaylah specialises in Egyptian and Turkish dance, bringing joyful entertainment to aged care facilities and community centres. Her engaging performances celebrate the uplifting power of music, movement, and connection.

Fight Parkinson's

Paula Anastasoglou is an experienced Occupational Therapist with more than 35 years of practice across a broad range of healthcare settings. She has a particular interest in health education, health promotion, and healthy ageing. In her current role as a member of the Health Team at Fight Parkinson’s, Paula provides education, information, and support to people living with Parkinson’s, as well as their families, friends, and healthcare professionals. She is committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to optimise health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

BreastScreen Victoria

Jess has worked in the Client and Community Engagement team at BreastScreen Victoria for 5 years. Jess’ role includes coordinating community engagement projects to improve the client experience and ultimately increase participation in the eligible screening population. Jess has a particular focus on increasing participation for people with disability and LGBTIQA+ communities. Jess has worked in the health promotion and public health sector for over 10 years.
