The playground is currently closed to facilitate essential underground drainage works. The playground will be open again by the end of July, pending weather conditions.
As works progress on the Croydon Community Wellbeing Precinct (CCWP) project, there will be changes to how you access nearby facilities and navigate footpaths and trails.
A temporary public accessible toilet is available whilst works are underway, located to the south of the former Keystone Hall building.
This toilet is open from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week (closes at 9pm during daylight saving hours).
Temporary changeroom facilities are available to the south of the former Keystone Hall building. These are available via agreement only with local sporting groups and not for public use.
Some footpaths around the CCWP precinct may be closed or inaccessible during certain phases of works. Detours are in place. More information will become available as the project progresses.
The playground opposite Maroondah Education and Care is currently closed to facilitate essential underground drainage works. The playground will be open again by the end of July, pending weather conditions.
The closest alternative playgrounds are located near Croydon Town Park, X Space on the south-western side of the oval and Z Space located on the northern side of the oval.
Council is continuing to work closely with any effected local groups or organisations as part of the CCWP project.
To facilitate the next phase of works, some pathways and facilities surrounding the old Keystone Hall site will be restricted, with detours in place.
From mid-July the bridge to the north of Fred Geale Oval will be closed whilst works take place underground. Pedestrians can detour via the Tarralla Creek Trail to connect back with Civic Square, crossing to the footpath on the western side via the raised crossing.
The footpath and carparking spaces on the eastern side of Civic Square, from the playground to the northern end of the grassed area, will be closed from the last week of July. These works will take approximately three weeks to complete, pending weather conditions. Pedestrians will detour via the footpath on the western side of Civic Square.
Works will then continue north of the old Keystone Hall site in mid-August and more information will be provided as the project progresses.
