Council has received Australian Government funding through the Active Transport Fund to construct an off-road shared user path along Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood between Bedford Road and Reilly Street.
Council engaged with the local community in 2021-22 on a proposal to construct an off-road shared user path along Greenwood Avenue to provide a high-quality cycling connection to the Ringwood Metropolitan Activity Centre, nearby community facilities and other significant cycling paths. The community feedback received during this time helped inform the detailed design plan development and future advocacy for the proposal.
You can find out more about the consultation on Council's Your Say Maroondah website.
Through funding support from the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund, Council will be undertaking construction of the Greenwood Ave Shared User Path project in the 2026/2027 financial year.
Design plans have been finalised and are available to view, linked in the Design plans section on this page. While subject to contractor availability, on-site works are expected to commence in late 2026. Further construction specific information will be provided prior to commencement of the works.
