As part of Council’s commitment to improve roads footpaths in Maroondah, Council will be undertaking road improvement works and constructing new footpath along Oban Road between Smedley Road and Ellamatta Rise in Ringwood North.

The works will involve the construction of kerb and channel, footpaths, and associated property vehicle crossings on Oban Road between Smedley Road and Ellamatta Rise. The works will remove the swale drains, improve stormwater management, improve pedestrian connectivity and provide consistency along this segment of road.

Works are scheduled to commence from Monday 27 October 2025 and are expected to be completed within six weeks, with normal working hours from 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Oban Road, west of Smedley Road, forms the municipal boundary between Manningham Council and Maroondah City Council. This section of Oban Road has also been identified for the continuation of road improvement works, including the construction of kerb and channel, and road pavement renewal. This project is being led by Manningham Council and more information can be found at the Manningham Council website.

To facilitate a safe working environment for the public and contractors during the works, traffic controls will be in place and short delays along Oban Road should be expected.
