A renewed playspace is coming to Heathmont in mid-2026

As part of Council’s 25/26 Capital Works Playspace Improvement program, Council will undertake playspace renewal works at Wieland Reserve in Heathmont. The new playspace will provide structural play elements that promote physical activity, social interactions, problem solving, safe risk-taking, lead and follow, inclusion, cooperation and sharing.

About the project

  • Single play units with two slides
  • Monkey bars, scramble net climber and belt bridge
  • Four seat rocker standalone element
  • One multi-bay swing unit including swings for different ages and abilities
  • Activity panels and play items

Also included in the works will be a mesh fence constructed along Dresden Avenue. This will reduce the risk of children exiting onto the road unaccompanied.

The renewal works are due to commence from June this year and works are scheduled to take two weeks, subject to contractor and material availability.
