Playground closure

The Premier has announced a return to Stage 3 restrictions commencing Wednesday 8 July at 11.59pm. In response to the Stage 3 restrictions, all playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment and skate parks will be closed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience.

The 8.5 hectare park is used for various recreational activities and includes a lake and bridge, sound shell, mining history display, playground with accessible equipment, a liberty swing, picnic shelters and barbecues, a walking circuit that is approximately 1.1km long and bushland.

Ringwood Lake Park also has a Changing Places bathroom as part of its public toilet facilities.

Playspace

Please note: a section of the playspace is currently unavailable for use due to damage to equipment. The area has been fenced off and works to replace the equipment will be undertaken as soon as possible.

The playground features a network of play trails that weaves through the existing trees, linking all areas of the playspace with active play opportunities, in the tree canopy, under the canopy trail, along the forest floor as well as a creek area for water and sand play.

Features include track glides, rope courses and balance platforms, as well as natural play elements such as sand and water areas, which allow creative play for all abilities, including cubbies and animal sculptures to fuel children’s imaginations.

Parking

There are five disabled car parking bays that can be accessed from the Maroondah Highway entrance. The disabled parking bays are connected to the playspace via an accessible path. The Maroondah Highway entrance only offers access to the disabled parking bays.

General parking can be accessed from the entrance on Mt Dandenong Road.

Maroondah Junior Ranger Walks

Exploring our local Maroondah environment is fun, good for our health and easy to do with our family and friends.

Using the Junior Ranger sheet, our young Rangers can tick off species as they find them, and see tips on park safety.
