About the park

The new sensory playground was completed in 2017 and includes:

  • traditional play elements such as swings, slides, climbing nets, rockers and spinning poles
  • imaginative and explorative play using sand, soil, water, branches and tree nuts
  • a fully wheelchair accessible site, with ramp onto raised deck with numerous interactive play items, linking paths to cafe, toilets and seating
  • activity areas for specific ages, with a range of experiences for 1 to 12 year olds, including a giant spiders web, birds nest lookout and natural tunnels
  • a significant public art component to reflect the current uses of the Wyreena Community Arts Centre.

Surrounding the playspace are park benches, tables and access to a public toilet. The playspace is located alongside Conservatory Cafe.
