Great Southern Bioblitz

The Great Southern Bioblitz is a global citizen science event that encourages the community to get involved in documenting wild flora and fauna to help scientists better understand and protect our environment.

Prepare for the Great Southern Bioblitz

  1. Download the iNaturalist app.
  2. Get familiar with recording observations and sharing with the iNaturalist community.
  3. Participate! Attend our nature discovery activities or make observations on your own.

Get involved

To take part in the Great Southern Bioblitz, simply use iNaturalist to record observations in your backyard, your street, your local park or creek anytime during the four days of the challenge. Better still, download iNaturalist beforehand, and get familiar with using it so that when the Great Southern Bioblitz begins, you are ready to go!
