Darn Good Mending Workshop with Julia English

Visible (and invisible) mending is on trend, but do you know how to do it? Keep your favourite clothing items in circulation (and out of landfill) by learning some simple repair methods with Julia English. Julia is a researcher and maker, creating positive change in the world through fashion.  With experience in fashion design and construction, as well as mending at many repair cafes and hands-on workshops, Julie will guide you through repair techniques and touch ups.

This workshop will be suited to young people, and adults, with a passion for fashion, and a desire to reduce waste, look great and save money on clothing. 

Bring along a couple of non- stretchy fabric items to repair.  You don't need any sewing experience to participate in this class, and we will share nifty sewing tricks to help you feel like a repair pro when you walk out the door.

Parking

  • Parking available at Eastland Shopping Centre. When arriving via Ringwood Bypass, enter from Ringwood Street at West 5. If you arrive from Warrandyte Road, use entry East 6. Parking is free for the first 3 hours.
  • Public transport
    Realm is across the road from Ringwood Train Station.

Accessibility

  • Auslan interpreters available upon request.
  • Accessible Parking spaces available on the other side of Ringwood Town Square (Eastland Level 3), approximately 60m from Realm entry.
  • Accessible toilets available on every level.
  • Changing Places accessible toilet available on Level 1.
  • Internal lifts available to provide ease of access to every level.
