Take the Buy Nothing New challenge this October!

Join our walking op shop tour to find yourself a second-hand treasure. Buying second hand is one of the best ways we can reduce textile waste. Choosing to purchase second-hand clothing is a great choice for the planet and you’re likely to find a one-of-a kind item (or a few!) that will enhance your wardrobe.

Expert stylist Jenna Flood will join us as we walk from the Realm building in Ringwood, visiting local Op Shops Ringwood Savers, Ringwood Vinnies and Ringwood Salvos.. We will be walking for about 25 minutes (1.7kms), visiting three local Op Shops, and spending around half an hour at each site.

Prior to the walking tour, you are invited to join a panel of sustainable fashion experts as we break away from fashion trends and discuss how to make our wardrobes more sustainable. Registrations are essential.

Buy Nothing New Month

Buy Nothing New Month has been promoting conscious consumption since 2010 by encouraging people to rethink their buying habits, for the month of October. This 31 day challenge encourages us to think about where our stuff comes from and where it goes when we are done, and to explore eco-friendly alternatives like buying second-hand, borrowing, or renting when we need something 'new.'

For more information visit the Buy Nothing New website.
