Maroondah 2050
The Maroondah 2050 – Our future together Community Vision describes our community’s aspirations for the future of Maroondah, looking ahead to the year 2050. It provides a ‘roadmap’ for the community, Council, local organisations and businesses, as well as other levels of government, to work together to create a future that further enhances Maroondah as a great place to live, work, play and visit.
To develop the Maroondah 2050 Community Vision Council extensively engaged with the Maroondah community to understand their values, aspirations and priorities for our municipality looking ahead to the year 2050.
The Maroondah 2050 Community Vision brings together over 9800 responses from our diverse community, including businesses, community leaders and other identified key stakeholders, recommendations from the Maroondah Community Panel, and research into emerging trends, opportunities and challenges, to set the future direction for Maroondah. The Vision was adopted by Council on 26 May 2025, with effect from 1 July 2025 in accordance with requirements of the Local Government Act 2020.
The Maroondah 2050 - Our future together Community Vision is unique to Maroondah. It speaks to the way our community wants to feel – safe and included, how they want the municipality to be – vibrant and green, and what they want to strive for – a prosperous and sustainable future for all.
Our community’s Vision for Maroondah in 2050 is:

Measuring our progress
Monitoring progress towards realising the Maroondah 2050 Community Vision is a key focus of Council.
Council is committed to keeping the Maroondah community informed about the work that Council is undertaking in working towards the Maroondah 2050 Community Vision and will do this through the periodic preparation of the State of Maroondah Report. This report celebrates achievements, recognises efforts, monitors trends and identifies areas for future improvements, as we all work towards the Maroondah 2050 Community Vision.
