A vehicle crossing permit is always required to repair, modify, relocate, reconstruct, or construct an additional vehicle crossing, or to undertake footpath or kerb and channel works.

Before a permit can be issued, Written Council consent is always required.

Temporary Vehicle Crossing Consent and Permit

A Temporary Vehicle Crossing Permit allows legal access to a construction site where there is no existing approved vehicle crossing, or an existing vehicle crossing is not practical for site access. The Temporary Vehicle Crossing consent and permit are combined as one application.

Step 2.Apply for Temporary Traffic Management Permit

To undertake works on Council-owned roads, footpaths or nature strips, builders and contractors are required to have a Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Permit (formerly named a Road and Footpath Closure Permit) before works commence.

Works include:

  • road openings
  • vehicle crossings
  • service connections
  • landscaping works.
