This guide provides a list of agencies and recycling centres to help with safe disposal of waste items and correct recycling procedures.
Charges may apply for some items; we recommend you contact the facility to confirm any costs before taking your items.

Asbestos Analysis

For asbestos analysis, contact :
- Worksafe Victoria on 9641 1555 for advice
- The National Association of Testing on 9329 1633 and they will refer you to someone in your area (if available).

Asbestos Removal

Asbestos handling
Seek professional advice prior to handling.
Keep damp and wrap in two layers of heavy duty black plastic sheeting taped down with duct tape.
While Council has provided these brief guidelines on the handling of asbestos, we recommend that any material thought to contain asbestos be removed, handled and disposed of by a licensed asbestos removal contractor in accordance with Worksafe Victoria’s Guidelines.
