Please note, available building plans depend on the age of the documents provided to Council at the time of lodgement. These are not always detailed and older plans may not show all the information you require, such as plumbing/sewer details or any underground services.

Step 1.Eligibility

To be eligible to request a copy of building documents for a property you must be the current owner, or have written consent from the current owner.

If you are not the current owner of the property, you will need to submit a signed Owners consent form with your application.

Step 2.Fee applies

A non-refundable fee applies to request copies of building documents.

Please note: this is a search fee and does not guarantee results or that the documents you require are available to be retrieved.

Step 4.Processing

Council will respond to your application as quickly as possible. Please allow 15 business days.

Step 5.Provision of documents

You will be emailed a link to download any available documents. The link will expire after two weeks. It is important to download the documents and save them to your personal device as soon as possible to avoid a re-application fee.

Please note:

  • Documents are unable to be sent as attachments due to file size.
  • Historical documentation may need to be retrieved from an offsite storage facility.
