Amendment C136maro – Croydon South Greyfield Precinct

Council has prepared Amendment C136maro to the Maroondah Planning Scheme. 

Amendment C136maro applies to the Croydon South Greyfield Precinct bound by Bayswater Road to the west, Eastfield Road to the north, Thomas Street to the south and Blazey Road to the east.

The Amendment proposes to rezone the Precinct from Neighbourhood Residential Zone to General Residential Zone Schedule 3 and introduce a Development Plan Overlay Schedule 8 and Development Contributions Plan Schedule 3.

The Amendment also introduced the Design Framework and Concept Plan, Croydon South Greyfield Precinct, 2019 as a Reference Document to the Maroondah Planning Scheme. Other changes are also proposed to the Municipal Strategic Statement and the Local Planning Policy within the Maroondah Planning Scheme to support the strategic basis for the Amendment and update the policy application.

Background

The Amendment is currently on public exhibition until 26 February 2021. During that time, anyone can make a submission.

Next steps

Once the exhibition period has finished, Council will engage with submitters who have provided a written outline of concerns. If these concerns cannot be resolved, the Amendment will be referred to Planning Panels Victoria for a public hearing.

Following the hearing, the Panel will make recommendations as to how outstanding issues should be addressed.
