Follow your FOGO tour - Ringwood pick up

Join us for a free bus tour to visit the Bio Gro facility in Dandenong South, where Maroondah’s food and garden waste is decontaminated, processed and turned into compost.

A bus will pick up registered participants from the front of Central Ringwood Community Centre at 9.15am, and return participants to the same location at approximately 12.30 pm.

What you will experience on the tour:

  • A free bus trip with other local residents
  • A guided visit to the Bio Gro facility in Dandenong South
  • An explanation of how food and garden waste is decontaminated and processed
  • A chance to see how contamination affects compost quality.

  • Time: 9.15am to 12.30pm
  • Bus pick‑up and return: Central Ringwood Community Centre
  • Destination: Bio Gro, Dandenong South
  • Cost: Free
  • Auslan interpreters are available upon request.

Registrations are essential and places are limited.

Access and site conditions

Please note, the tour takes place at a working industrial facility that processes organic materials.

  • People with allergies to grasses, plants or other organic materials may wish to consider whether the tour is suitable for them.
  • The site can be noisy at times. People with sound sensitivity may wish to bring ear plugs.
  • The tour involves stairs, including boarding the bus and a flight of stairs at the facility.
