Intergenerational Portrait Workshop

Next date: Saturday, 20 September 2025 | 01:30 PM to 03:30 PM

An adult and a child drawing

Kids and their chosen adult are invited to come to an intergenerational creative workshop and illustrate a portrait of each other.

Using oil pastels and pencils, attendees will capture each others portraits in a vibrant, textured and fun workshop that encourages expression, play and conversation while we work. The workshop will begin with each person introducing the person they’ve brought along with them to encourage storytelling, conversation and connection. Sitting opposite each other we’ll then sketch out the person and colour it will oil pastels. The workshop will be guided by visual artist Angharad Neal-Williams, who will provide tips on drawing faces, using oil pastels, and how to capture personality and expression in your artwork.

This workshop is part of Imagine: Creative experiences for children, a playful program of workshops that encourage children to learn new skills while exploring nature and making art!
